Meet Robin, a seasoned professional in the hair industry since 2009, specializing in barbering since 2010 with a knack for men’s cuts and flawless fades.
For the past 9 years, she has proudly called the Comox Valley her home base. Beyond her talent with scissors and clippers, Robin harbors a deep passion for personal training and nutrition, dedicating her spare time to coaching others.
When she’s not perfecting haircuts or empowering clients, you’ll likely find Robin by the water’s edge or hosting lively gatherings with friends on her days off. At Roots the Salon, we’re thrilled to welcome Robin and her vibrant energy to our team.
Outside of work, Alana is a devoted explorer of her island home, often accompanied by her beautiful teenage daughters and high school sweetheart. Her downtime is filled with culinary adventures, where she loves to cook up delightful creations from foraged treasures and unwind with a refreshing swim. Alana is thrilled to be surrounded by such a talented team at Roots and looks forward to soaking up knowledge and inspiration from her new colleagues.

Rebekah is Comox Valley born and raised and has a strong passion for everything hair related, and loves learning new things! In her spare time Rebekah loves to paddle board, or cuddle with her pet dog and cat…. Oh and her husband too! Rebekah has been a professional stylist for the last 10 years, graduated at Del Rio Academy Hair school in 2013 and specializes in creative colours, highlighting, and balayage techniques. If you are looking for a fun, LGBTQ+ friendly, creative hairstylist, Rebekah is definitely your gal and will NOT disappoint.

Shannon grew up in the Comox Valley and is very eager to continue to grow personally and professionally here as a proud member of the Roots Salon team. She has always had a fascination for the beauty industry and especially in regards to hair. While she loves all things hair, she has a passion for all kinds of blondes, whether it be ‘lived in’ blondes to ‘bleach outs’ .
In September 2019, Shannon took the Babe Mastery Tour for Hair Extensions and can help you work towards your hair dreams with the many different types of Babe Hair Extensions.
Shannon’s goal is to create an inclusive and comfortable environment and to have every one of her guests feeling confident when they leave her chair. Having provided them the knowledge to allow them to continue their hair journey even when they are in between appointments.

Meet Elijah, a vibrant junior stylist at Roots the Salon, where she brings her passion for hairdressing and artistic flair to life. Graduating from VIU in 2023, Elijah discovered her natural talent as an artist, transitioning seamlessly from paper to hair. She specializes in creating stunning lived-in colors and intricate layered styles, tailored to each client’s unique personality and preferences.
Beyond her creative pursuits in the salon, Elijah thrives in the great outdoors. You’ll often find her exhilaratingly dirt biking through rugged trails, carving fresh powder on the slopes snowboarding, or indulging in her love for sushi and a good book. Her diverse interests and adventurous spirit not only inspire her work but also reflect her dynamic approach to life.
Elijah is dedicated to perfecting her craft, staying updated with the latest trends, and ensuring every client leaves Roots the Salon feeling confident and refreshed. With her warm personality and artistic expertise, she is set to make waves in the world of hairstyling.
